May 26, 2010 10:06 AM

Thermo King Corporation announced that the TriPac electric auxiliary idle reduction and temperature management system has received verification from the Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay Verified Technologies program.

This program recognizes products that reduce emissions, save fuel, and deliver other benefits related to environmental sustainability. Thermo King’s engine-based auxiliary power unit (APU), the TriPac system, has also been verified by SmartWay.

The first electric APU from Thermo King, the TriPac provides a clean, sustainable choice for those looking for APU options. This system is designed to maintain comfortable temperature conditions in the truck cab without running an engine. It is a battery-powered system that uses power management technology to optimize energy used.
