Nascent opens Mexican distribution center

Feb 20, 2007 9:39 AM

Nascent Food Service has opened a full-service warehouse and distribution center in Ensenada, Baja, Mexico, and named food industry executive Eduardo Ortiz Lopez as general manager for that facility.

The opening of this distribution center allows more efficient and cost-effective distribution to Ensenada, which stretches from the Pacific Ocean to the Sea of Cortez.

Nascent now has six strategically located distribution centers in San Diego CA, Miami FL, Tijuana, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Penasco, and Ensenada.

The company plans to consolidate many of the smaller foodservice distributors in Mexico market via acquisitions. Nascent currently has an exclusive distribution agreement with Miller Beer for Baja California. It represents other brands such as General Mills/Pillsbury Products, Avasoft Ice Cream, and Haagen-Dazs.
