Choptank Transport, a third-party logistics company headquartered in Preston MD, attended the University of Maryland’s Celebration of Scholarships recently, where Choptank announced it has completed a scholarship endowment program with the University of Maryland.

This $50,000 fund, officially named the “Choptank Transport Business Scholarship,” is now available to any University of Maryland undergraduate student who attends the Robert H Smith School of Business.

The goal of the scholarship is to provide aid to business students interested in future employment opportunities, including, but not limited to, the field of transportation and third-party logistics. The scholarship is designed to further the education of local students who otherwise might not have the opportunity.

“Maryland’s ability to produce talented business graduates has given us many qualified associates at Choptank,” said President Geoff Turner. “We’re proud to support the university and hope this scholarship will help attract students to our industry.”

This annual scholarship requires students to reapply every year, and is available for students pursuing any business major. The application process begins in mid-March (spring break) through the final week of classes in early May.
