Cargill helps put the giving' in Thanksgiving

Nov 1, 2006 12:00 PM

Cargill Meat Solutions Corp will donate nearly 18,000 pounds of its Honeysuckle White turkeys to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) this Thanksgiving holiday season.

The turkeys will be used to provide traditional Thanksgiving feasts to families of seriously ill children staying in nearly 160 Ronald McDonald Houses around the United States. More than 4,000 families will celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday at Ronald McDonald Houses in 2006.

The cornerstone Ronald McDonald House program began in 1974 based on this idea: Provide a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. Since that time, more than 10 million families worldwide have benefited from these facilities.

Headquartered in Wichita KS, Cargill Meat Solutions Corp is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cargill Inc.
