Free reports examine
truck freight efficiency

Mar 2, 2011 10:21 AM

The North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE) has published two free Freight Efficiency Executive Reports on its website NACFE.org. The reports are part of NACFE’s effort to help the trucking industry accelerate the rate of adoption of freight-efficient products, technologies, and practices.

These reports offer a balanced investigation of the featured topic, providing both the improved performance and economic considerations, while also being sure to identify any potential consequences of its use. The first two reports now available explore the subjects of 6x2 tractors and wide-base single tires. Additional reports will be published in the future, and the industry is invited to comment on the various reports, or suggest further areas of investigation.

NACFE will also be holding its third Driving Innovation meeting in conjunction with the NTEA/CALSTART Green Truck Summit and NTEA Work Truck Show at the Indianapolis Convention Center on March 9 from 1:30 to 5 pm. Guest speaker will be Kevin Rutherford of Trucking Business & Beyond, Road Dog Sirius 147 XM 171, and a panel will discuss the current state of freight efficiency in North America. Registration is free and requested at NACFE.org.

NACFE was created to drive the development and adoption of efficiency-enhancing, environmentally beneficial, and cost-effective technologies, services, and methodologies in the North American freight industry by establishing and communicating credible and performance-based benefits. It neither sells nor promotes specific technologies. By adhering to a standard of technological and political impartiality, this council seeks to ensure the safe, efficient, and profitable future of the trucking industry.
