NYK launches new logistics center on 35 acres

NYK Logistics (America) Inc has opened a new 130,000-square-foot logistics center on 35 acres in Norfolk VA. This cross-dock facility will contain all three divisions of NLA, an affiliate of Japan-based Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK).
Open 24/7, the $27 million Norfolk facility will employ more than 375 workers during peak operations. Services provided consist of supply chain management, overseas consolidation, transloading, and ocean and airfreight transportation.
Certified as an ISO 9001:2000 warehouse and logistics center, the new facility can accommodate more than 300 import containers daily.
