TIA designates 46 certified brokers

May 1, 2008 12:00 PM

The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) has designated 46 industry professionals with its Certified Transporation Broker (CTB) credentials.

Created in 1986, the CTB program tests the knowledge of participants on brokerage legal and regulatory requirements, as well as the latest trends in transportation and business management. The three-part exam is administered in one day. To be eligible to take the exam, participants must earn at least five candidate points, which are based on professional and education experience. In addition, participants must have at least one year of experience working as a broker. Candidates may earn additional CTB eligibility points if they have completed formal education, such as receiving a Bachelor of Arts or a Master of Science degree.

TIA also offers an online CTB Home Study Course that lasts for up to 17 weeks. Phone Cindy Amos at 703-299-5710 for complete information.
