ZIM improves South America services

Jul 1, 2008 12:00 PM

Shipping provider ZIM, whose services include fleets of refrigerated containers, has improved its services in South America.

ZIM South America Express Service (SAX) now calls Puerto Cabello in Venezuela directly after Kingston, Jamaica, as its second port on its southbound voyage in order to better serve cargoes bound to Venezuela. The new ZIM SAX port rotation is now: Kingston; Puerto Cabello, Venezuela; Vitoria, Rio Grande, Navegantes, Santos, Fortaleza, Brazil; La Guaira, Venezuela; and Kingston.

River Plate Express (RPX) now offers a ZIM dedicated weekly feeder vessel to better serve exporters and importers from and to Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil.

The m/v Pampero, with a 512-TEU capacity, will be calling Rio Grande, Brazil, every Friday; Montevideo, Uruguay, every Monday; and Buenos Aires, Argentina, every Wednesday, then again Rio Grande, where it connects with the SAX service.
