ClimaCab and Webasto have partnered to offer a climate control system for heavy-duty trucks. The collaboration offers an engine-off system that saves fuel and reduces noxious emissions.
Glacier Bay’s electric air-conditioning system, ClimaCab, and Webasto’s Air Top 2000 ST heater are fully integrated into one seamless package that provides truck operators and fleets with a sleeper cab environment year-round, independent of idling a truck’s engine. ClimaCab’s touch screen provides full heating and cooling control at the touch of a button, allowing precise climate control. To simplify doing business, Glacier Bay will be the single-source supplier for all system sales, parts, service, and warranty needs.
ClimaCab provides A/C for 10-plus hours on a scorching summer afternoon while burning no fuel. The A/C system runs on only four batteries charged by a standard truck alternator. An intelligent power management module ensures optimum battery charging, extends battery life, and helps eliminate jump starts.
The Webasto Air Top 2000 ST provides quiet, powerful air heating that uses the factory bunk HVAC air ducts. The system is efficient (using 80% less fuel than an idling truck), light (5.7 pounds), and compact.
