ConocoPhillips provides 76 Firebird oil

Oct 1, 2008 12:00 PM

ConocoPhillips Company has introduced 76 Firebird Heavy Duty EC 15W40, the API CJ-4 upgrade of its diesel engine oil product. It is made from rerefined base oils and a tailored, low SAPS (sulfated ash, phosphorus and sulfur) additive to meet lubrication requirements of the 2007 and later model year, low emissions diesel engines equipped with exhaust after-treatment devices. The product is also back-serviceable for use in pre-2007 engines specifying lubricants of the previous API categories.

76 Firebird Heavy Duty EC 15W40 is made from high-quality rerefined base oils that are produced in a multi-step, used oil rerefining process. It meets federal, state, and/or municipal requirements for the procurement and use of rerefined products by the public agencies and institutions. Additionally, it meets the latest heavy-duty engine oil specifications of major engine builders for use in metro bus fleets, on-highway trucks, and off-highway equipment. It provides these performance benefits:

  • Outstanding soot control to disperse soot and minimize soot-caused oil thickening.

  • Excellent wear and corrosion protection to reduce engine wear and prolong engine life.

  • Enhanced oxidation resistance and thermal stability to extend oil life.
