Fuel card for biodiesel

May 1, 2008 12:00 PM

The first-ever biodiesel fuel card has been created by the National Biodiesel Foundation (NBF). With the BioTrucker Fuel Card, fleets and owner operators can pay the cash price on all fuel and no fuel transaction fee for biodiesel at in-network truck stops.

The NBF is working to develop additional incentives for the use of biodiesel — a clean burning alternative fuel, produced from domestic, renewable resources such as byproduct oils.

At present, Sapp Bros Travel Centers, Peru, Illinois; Waddy Unocal 76, Waddy, Kentucky; and Drivers Truck Stop, Ft. Worth, Texas, are offering a $.02 discount at the pump for BioTrucker Fuel Card holders.

The initial BioTrucker Fuel Card in-network locations consist of 149 truck stops, both large chains and independent facilities. In addition, the card is accepted at 4,900 truck accessible retail fueling stations across the US.

The ProMiles XF mapping software shows truck-accessible biodiesel locations.
