Mack offers Bendix air disc brakes on Pinnacle models

Oct 1, 2008 12:00 PM

Bendix ADB22X heavy-duty air disc brakes are now available on Mack Trucks' Pinnacle tractors. Disc brakes are noted for their superior braking performance, resistance to fade on long downhill descents, ease of maintenance, and longer component life, said Mack highway products marketing manager Jerry Warmkessel.

Moreover, disc brakes work well in especially demanding on-highway braking requirements, he said, and complement the enhanced performance and safety of the Mack Roll Stability Advantage system that is standard on the company's highway vehicles.

Mack is initially offering the Bendix disc brakes on 12,000-lb steer and 40,000-lb rear tandem drive axles. With the brakes on all three axles, vehicle weight is cut by about 159 pounds compared to drum brakes, said Warmkessel.
