Rice Lake Weighing Systems announces the purchase of Precision Loads of Seattle WA, completed as of October 2009. Since 1993, Precision Loads has been a manufacturer of on-board scales, and Rice Lake has been the exclusive national distributor for Precision Loads since 2005. Because of their strong working relationship, both parties expect the transition to be seamless.

With this acquisition, Rice Lake has expanded its on-board weighing presence and will take a more active role in the design, manufacture, and support of these products, in addition to continuing to develop new on-board weighing system technologies. Thomas Kendall, president of Precision Loads, will be retained as an employee of Rice Lake and serve as the director of strategic accounts for on-board weighing systems.
