AC traction made standard on forklift trucks

The Raymond Corp has made AC-powered traction standard on its line of 36-volt Reach-Fork and Deep-Reach forklift trucks. AC technology benefits:
Maintenance managers — AC extends battery life, so workers spend less time at the battery charger and fewer batteries are needed. AC uses no motor brushes, springs, commutators, motor bearings or independent regen circuits.
Operators — AC traction provides increased acceleration and improved precision to store and retrieve pallet loads. Motors produce less heat, so operators enjoy a cooler work compartment.
Distribution center managers — AC-powered lift trucks are proven to be 9% to 11% more productive than lift trucks with DC-powered traction because they have faster acceleration and spend less time ramping up speed.
