ArvinMeritor to supply Chinese manufacturer

ArvinMeritor Inc's Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) business group has signed a strategic alliance agreement with Shenzhen CIMC Heavy Industries Co Ltd (SCHI) in Shenzhen, China, to supply trailer systems.

Announced at the Birmingham Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, United Kingdom, this contract includes the delivery of 20,000 trailer axles per year. The agreement begins a five-year long-term global supply partnership between the two companies that will include purchase and supply of axle systems for five years from the signing date.

SCHI is the fully owned subsidiary of China International Marine Containers (Group) Ltd (CIMC), one of the first container manufacturers and Sino-foreign joint ventures in China. CIMC is dedicated to the manufacture and supply of container, trailer, and airport equipment.

With net assets of over $2.8 billion, CIMC has more than 30 subsidiaries across China and in other nations around the world, and has more than 14,000 employees. SCHI is now focusing on various special vehicles and trailers from its three factories in China.
