Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC launched an upgraded diagnostic software program plus a remote diagnostic unit that provides unprecedented levels of support for troubleshooting its antilock braking systems, including its latest EC-60 electronic control unit (ECU) for the ABS-6 standard and premium versions.
The Bendix ACOM 3.0 software supports various Bendix ECUs in service with several user-friendly capabilities. The program, designed jointly with Bendix parent organization, Knorr-Bremse, simplifies the troubleshooting process.
ACOM 3.0's primary benefit is a diagnostic trouble code window that clearly spells out the status of the system. It describes the code, where it's located on the wiring harness, which pins to check, and brief instructions for addressing the activity. It also includes a link to the online Bendix repair manual.
The pocket-size Remote Diagnostic Unit plugs into the nine-pin diagnostic connector on the dash and provides immediate system status. A magnetic reset switch lets the system be reset after faults have been corrected.
