Eaton Vorad delivers 200 systems to TransAm

Aug 1, 2003 12:00 PM

Eaton Vorad has delivered 200 Eaton Vehicle Information Management Systems (EVIMS) to TransAm Trucking Inc, a refrigerated truckload carrier based in Olathe KS.

EVIMS is an optional enhancement to the Vorad Collision Warning System that allows fleets to monitor vehicle and driver performance better.

According to Russ McElliott, vice-president and general manager of TransAm, the carrier has an option to purchase an additional 300 units by the end of 2003.

EVIMS, which uses Windows-based software, records and stores data, including hard braking events, time on brakes, following distances, and fast approaches on slow-moving traffic.
