IdleAire system installed at Petro truckstops

Nov 1, 2004 12:00 PM

Petro Stopping Centers has installed IdleAire Technology's truck electrification system at four of its locations: Atlanta GA, Knoxville TN, West Memphis AR, and Santa Nella CA. IdleAire has started construction at two other Petro locations in El Paso TX on Interstate 10 and near Birmingham AL on I-59.

Fleets that have agreements with IdleAire pay $1.25 per hour to use the electrification system to power central heat and air in the truck cab without the need for idling. IdleAire also offers a range of communications and entertainment services. The only retrofit required is a $10 window adapter.

“Petro gave IdleAire the opportunity to perform in a real truck parking lot environment, and we were able to learn a lot from that experience that we are applying as we deploy nationally,” said David Everhart, IdleAire chief operating officer.
