Torsion assist optional on E-RM Series

Nov 1, 2003 12:00 PM

Waltco Truck Equipment Co provides a new, improved torsion-assist platform feature on its E-RM Series Flipaway models with 80"-wide platforms.

Torsion-assist springs are standard equipment on the main deck section of all E-RM Series Flipaways, regardless of platform size. By providing additional torsion-assist to the folding section of the 80"-wide platform, Waltco has made the larger-platform E-RM models easier to operate.

With this feature, the main deck and foldaway section of the 80"-wide liftgate platform each require 25 pounds of force to lift and fold. The E-RM Series Flipaway has a large, gently sloped platform for efficient, easy handling of products. It is available in 2,500- or 3,000-lb capacities.

Reduced-maintenance features cut down on the need for routine maintenance of the E-RM Series and enhance the liftgate's performance. These features include:

  • Self-lubricating, fiberglass-reinforced Teflon-coated bearings in place of grease zerks at all pivot points. The seamless concentric bearings are made from a composite that resists corrosion and conforms to the shaft load better than standard, 1/16 steel bearings with seams.

  • Hardened pins that reduce deflection and prolong the life of the bearings.

  • Closed-loop hydraulic system with hydraulic cylinders manufactured and tested in-house by Waltco.

The E-RM Flipaway Series features a three-year warranty on SuperSwitch and the liftgate mechanism, and two-year coverage on the Electropak power unit.
