Detroit Diesel replies to false report

May 1, 2003 12:00 PM

Detroit Diesel Corp (DDC) has responded to an erroneous report about the MBE 4000 engine, for which DDC has sales and service responsibility in the North American Free Trade Agreement. The report, provided to truck dealer sales personnel, contended that the MBE 4000 engine would not be certified for year-2004 emissions standards and beyond.

“That report is completely false. We fully intend to certify the engine in 2004, and in 2007 as well. It is the newest engine design available,” said Mark Bara, senior vice-president — on-highway engines.
