An Environmentally controlled, towable transport unit, the new TempCel is a fully encapsulated composite trailer produced with ceramic carbon-coated materials and is layered on the inner and outer shell of a highly insulated core. The design offers a barrier for the controlled balance of heat deflection and penetration for less heat loss or gain.
CO-ZIE Research and Manufacturing, a design, engineering, and research firm in Homosassa, Florida, developed the TempCel to provide for the hauling, storage, and delivery of temperature-sensitive products at a cost-effective value.
Among the TempCel's features:
Aerodynamically designed and tested full composite body with slanted front and tapered sidewalls to control turbulence.
Fully seamless roof and no-leak body with reflective heat-barrier coating.
Smooth, molded exterior finish for aesthetic appeal and logo applications.
Full composite insulated swing-around doors.
Monoque main sub-frame with fully insulated sub-floor pan protection against the elements and loss of temperature control.
Mechanical-electrical nosecone component cover for easy maintenance and equipment protection.
Smooth composite durable interior walls and headliner for easy clean-up.
Full composite interior floor.
Molded fenders with a flow-by design for less drag and more impact resistance.
Torsion axle independent suspension for less sway.
The TempCel 1200 series is 18 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 8 feet high. Inside length is 149 inches, inside width is 66 inches, and inside height is 74.5 inches, making for an interior cubic volume of 412 cubic feet.
Load capacity is 1,000 to 2,000 pounds, axle load range is 3,500 pounds, and tire wheel size 15 inches.
The trailers have an insulated movable interior wall with drift air adjustable vents and air-locked seal, and movable fore and aft to split cargo temperature ranges and zones. The walls can be easily adjusted by one person.
A variety of options are offered, including an optional generator requirement of 3,000 watts, spare tire with carrier, water washout unit, and custom racking and shelving units.
