Great Dane opens North Carolina facility

Nov 1, 2003 12:00 PM

Great Dane Trailers has begun operations at its new branch in Charlotte NC. The Savannah GA-based trailer manufacturer says it built the location to service an increased customer base. Besides incorporating high-tech operations, the Charlotte facility is larger than its predecessor and has 2½ times more yard space.

Located on 17 acres, the building comprises 58,000 square feet and includes a 24,000-square-foot parts warehouse, 20 service bays, and a paint booth. The paint facility — a first-of-its-kind in Great Dane's branch system — is compliant with all EPA, OSHA, and NFPA regulations.

Great Dane's newest branch opened July 21, and a grand opening celebration was set for September. The Charlotte facility is at 8011 Statesville Road, just off Interstate 77 between the Sunset Road and Harris Boulevard exits.
