General Motors considers sale of Allison

General Motors (GM) is looking at strategic options related to its Allison Transmission commercial and military operations, including a potential sale of the business.

Allison Transmission designs, engineers, manufactures, and sells automatic transmissions for commercial and military vehicle applications. Headquartered in Indianapolis IN, the company employs 3,400 people and has seven plants in Indianapolis. It sells automatic and powershift transmissions and product parts, and has a worldwide distribution network and sales offices in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
