Cabot Creamery Co-op
chooses RedPrairie WMS

Jan 23, 2009 8:47 AM

RedPrairie Corporation has announced its Warehouse Management system (WMS) has gone live in Cabot Creamery Cooperative’s 60,000-square-foot distribution center in Montpelier VT. Cabot uses RedPrairie’s system to help ship an average of 450,000 pounds of cheese each day.

The system is running in Cabot’s distribution center and two production sites, helping to track and trace product effectively from the point it is manufactured to when it is shipped from the warehouse.

WMS offers features specifically tailored for the industry. Capabilities include superior product rotation; freshness, date, and lot controls; catch weight; and variable aging.

Cabot has been in continuous operation in Vermont since 1919 and makes a full line of cheeses, yogurt, sour cream, cottage cheese, and butter. It is owned by the 1,400 dairy farm families of Agri-Mark, a northeastern U.S. dairy cooperative. For additional information, visit www.cabotcheese.coop.
