Schepps holds off on hormones in milk

Dec 1, 2006 12:00 PM

All Schepps Dairy's milk is now produced without the use of artificial growth hormones, effective October 9. Schepps is one of the first brands in Texas asking farmers to provide milk from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones, and farmers have pledged to do so.

The artificial growth hormone-free milk is being provided to consumers in the entire Fort Worth and Dallas area.

Founded in 1942, Schepps produces more than 6 million gallons of milk per month. It employs 1,000-plus people in Dallas and Houston and serves more than 1,500 convenience stores, 400 supermarkets, and 6,000 food and hospitality-related businesses in Texas.
