Diversified to invest
in Nebraska operation

May 21, 2007 10:31 AM

Madisonville LA-based Diversified Foods and Seasonings Inc intends to begin investing about $4 million in improvements and equipment at a Nebraska City NE plant in September. The move is expected to create 55 new jobs.

A food processing company, Diversified will invest in the former Arnie's Bakery facility, which closed in June 2006 and caused about 50 full-time workers to lose their positions.

The new plant will be capable of producing more than 100 million pounds of frozen food per year. It will manufacture custom entrees and sauces for restaurants.

Diversified has operations in Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama.
