Dot Foods responds
to Haitian relief needs

Dot Foods Inc recently collected and loaded 12 trucks with food and supplies bound for Haiti. In addition, Dot matched all employee contributions to donate a total of $92,990 to the relief efforts.

Coordinating the immediate transportation of donated goods, Dot partnered with Food For the Poor, an organization it has supported for the past 10 years, to deliver food to Haiti. In the wake of the recent disaster, Dot has increased its monthly donation to Haiti from one truckload to four.

Additionally, Dot matched the more than $45,000 contributed by 388 employees across the nation to donate $92,990.

Dot contacted food and supply manufacturers across the nation and facilitated free transportation for donated items from participants American Licorice, Apple and Eve, Camerica International, Dole, Golden Heritage, Inventure Group, Kangaroo Foods, Neil Jones Company, Reynolds, Sturm Foods, Sunsweet, and Volrath.

Dot carries 92,000 products from 500 food industry manufacturers and is the largest food redistributor in the United States. Dot Foods and Dot Transportation sell and deliver foodservice, convenience, retail, vending, equipment, and supplies to distributors in all 50 states. Dot Foods operates distribution centers in Modesto CA, Vidalia GA, Burley ID, Mt Sterling IL, Cambridge City IN, Williamsport MD, Liverpool NY, and Ardmore OK.
