High Liner Foods finishes
Icelandic USA integration

Nov 30, 2012 8:43 AM

Frozen seafood supplier High Liner Foods Inc (TSX: HLF; HLF.A) has completed the final stages of the Icelandic USA integration, well ahead of schedule and less than a year after the acquisition of Icelandic Group’s US assets.

Since the acquisition of Icelandic USA in late December 2011, High Liner has worked aggressively to integrate all facets of the business. Within the first six months, the firm fully integrated the foodservice and retail sales forces, broker networks, product lines, and operations.

High Liner has now completed the final milestone, completely integrating customer service and order fulfillment. All High Liner foodservice products in the United States have begun shipping from one location, the company’s Newport News VA distribution center. All retail products have begun shipping from its distribution center in Peabody MA. The new centralized electronic appointment scheduling system implemented companywide will simplify ordering. Customers now only need to submit one order, process one invoice, and handle one single delivery.

Completion of this project completes the final stage of integrating Icelandic USA into the High Liner business, well ahead of the original projected deadline.
