IFDA's supplier award

Feb 6, 2008 10:30 AM

At a gathering of top executives from more than 100 leading foodservice distributor and supplier companies, Tyson Foods Inc. was honored as the 2007 International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA) Supplier of the Year. Tyson Foods has received this award three of the past four years.

"Each year we survey the IFDA membership and ask them to rate the effectiveness and performance of manufacturers that participate in the IFDA Partners Program," said IFDA Chairman John Martin during the award presentation. "Our goal in conducting this survey is to recognize exceptional manufacturer performance in working with distributor customers." The survey was conducted with IFDA’s 169 distributor members.

Along with Tyson Foods, which received the highest score in the survey, IFDA also recognized McCain Foods USA, which placed second and received high marks in effectively conveying product information and in providing appropriate sales training materials. McCain has been previously recognized as IFDA Supplier of the Year in 2002, 2003, and 2005. Advance Food Company, which placed third, was most highly noted for effectively conveying product information and effectively working with the distributor sales force.
