Johanson Transportation Service (JTS), a third-party logistics provider, will be a major sponsor of the 2013 Fresno Food Expo.
This expo will be held March 14 at the Fresno Convention Center in downtown Fresno CA. It will showcase 106 San Joaquin Valley-based food producing companies to more than 500 regional, national, and international pre-qualified buyers during the closed business-to-business portion from 9 am to 2 pm PDT. Then it will be opened to the public from 5 pm to 8 pm with the purchase of a ticket so the anticipated crowd of 800 can taste, touch, discover, and buy a variety of food and beverage products made locally.
“JTS’s partnership with the Fresno Food Expo is part of our commitment to help the agricultural hub of the world continue to grow,” said JTS president Larry Johanson, “and we believe moving the Fresno Food Expo date for 2014 to the summer (July 24, 2014) will positively impact that growth by allowing San Joaquin Valley fresh producers to showcase their products while in season.”
About one-third of freight shipped from JTS headquarters in Fresno consists of goods such as produce, fresh and dried fruits, vegetables, nuts, dehydrated garlic, onions, food ingredients, and dairy products that originate in California—and in particular, from the San Joaquin Valley. In the past four decades, JTS has expanded to serve transportation needs of beverage, food and food ingredient processors, manufacturers, distributors, packaging companies, and grocery store clients across the nation.
