Performance Food Group has profitable 3Q

Performance Food Group Co has announced results for the third quarter ended Sept 29, 2007.
Consolidated net sales in the third quarter were approximately $1.6 billion, an increase of 10.4% compared with the prior-year quarter. Operating profit in the third quarter was $25.2 million, a gain of 25.3% over the same quarter in the previous year. Net earnings from continuing operations in the third quarter were about $16.1 million, which was 32.1% higher than in the same quarter of 2006.
Year-to-date, consolidated net sales were approximately $4.7 billion, an increase of 7.5% compared with the same period in 2006. Operating profit was $61.1 million, an advance of 16.6% versus the same period in 2006. Net earnings from continuing operations totaled $36.0 million, a gain of 20.0% over the same period in 2006.
