foodservice for US
Marine Corps mess halls

Sodexo has been selected by the United States Marine Corps in a contract for up to seven years to provide foodservice at 20 Marine Corps garrison mess halls along the US West Coast. Revenues to be generated over the life of the contract are valued at $766 million.
“I am very pleased that, by this contract, the Marine Corps reaffirmed its confidence in Sodexo,” said Michel Landel, Sodexo’s chief executive officer. “Sodexo’s teams in the United States are proud to back the US Marines in their missions.”
With this additional contract, Sodexo will serve a total of 51 garrison mess hall locations in Arizona, California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Washington DC. More than 40% of Sodexo’s contract with the US Marine Corps will be serviced through subcontracts with small, minority, disadvantaged, and women-owned businesses and with organizations that represent the interests of individuals with disabilities. Sodexo will combine custom-created systems and programs at each base location to provide quality dining for Marine Corps customers.
Sodexo was awarded a contract to operate 31 additional mess halls in February 2011.
The company has created a new form of service business that contributes to the fulfillment of its employees and the economic, social, and environmental development of the communities, regions, and nations in which it operates.
With a 15.3-billion-euro consolidated revenue and 380,000 employees, Sodexo says its is the 21st-largest employer worldwide. It operates 34,000 sites that serve 50 million consumers in 80 nations daily.
