Sysco finalizes purchase of Bunn division

Sysco Corp, the Houston TX-based foodservice marketer and distributor, has completed the acquisition of the foodservice assets of Bunn Capitol. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The foodservice division of Bunn Capitol is one of the leading foodservice distribution firms in the central Illinois area. The company distributes more than 8,000 fresh, frozen, and packaged goods to restaurants, healthcare businesses, clubs, and other customer concepts throughout Illinois.
Richard J Schnieders, chairman, chief executive officer, and president of Sysco, said, “The acquisition of Bunn Capitol's foodservice assets will strengthen our presence in both the central Illinois and the St Louis foodservice markets.”
