US Foodservice acquires
Ritter division of Pennfield

US Foodservice, the foodservice distributor headquartered in Rosemont IL, has purchased Ritter Food Service, a division of The Pennfield Corporation. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Ritter, based in Mount Joy PA, is a specialty distributor of poultry, meats, and seafood, including the Pennfield Farms brand. The company serves more than 1,000 customers that include local retailers and restaurants in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey. Ritter’s operations will become part of the US Foodservice Allentown PA division.

As important, Ritter customers now have access to more than 40,000 national brand products and US Foodservice’s own high-quality private label items, along with other food-related items.”
US Foodservice employs about 25,000 associates in more than 60 locations nationwide. It provides food and related products to more than 250,000 customers, including independent restaurants, government operations, healthcare and hospitality entities, educational institutions, and multi-unit restaurant companies.
