U.S. Foodservice Inc. plans to halt its North Star of the Carolinas operations in Greenville SC effective November 9.
This location, which has 175 employees, services several major chain restaurants in the region. These restaurants will be handled by other North Star locations, according to the company.
An additional North Star facility, a Mauldin SC-based support operation with 68 workers, will close before year-end. This makes a total of 243 employees facing layoffs or relocation to other areas.
Internal employment offers and severance packages will be provided to affected workers, according to U.S. Foodservice.
