Maines adds restaurants
to Burger King account

Maines Paper & Food Service Inc. has expanded its Burger King account to include foodservice distribution to another 22 restaurants in the Maryland area. This transaction is expected to generate annual sales of $25 million.

With this agreement, the total number of Burger King restaurants serviced by Conklin NY-based Maines will be 1,808. Work for the 22 sites is being included in a current contract with Burger King that expires in 2010.

Maines plans to add six warehouse and driver positions at its Savage MD facility, which will handle distribution for the new contract.

With annual revenues of more than $2.4 billion, Maines has more than 2,000 employees.
