RLS Logistics performs
in a ‘Superior’ manner

Jun 9, 2010 10:37 AM

RLS Logistics, a temperature-controlled logistics provider, recently received its highest independent inspection marks to date and a “Superior” rating from the American Institute of Baking. This is the fourth time in the past five years that RLS has achieved the Superior rating.

The AIBI GMP third-party audits provide an opportunity for companies to grade their own quality improvement and self-inspection procedures. Facilities involved in manufacturing and distributing foods strive to meet requirements in five categories designed to keep food products in a facility wholesome and safe. The categories include: Operational Methods and Personnel Practices, Maintenance for Food Safety, Cleaning Practices, Integrated Pest Management, and Adequacy of Prerequisite and Food Safety Programs.

“This is a great achievement for us,” said Jim Green, director of operations for RLS Logistics. “The Superior performance rating from the independent AIBI audit validates the quality improvement programs we implemented a number of years ago.”

RLS Logistics offers transportation, warehousing, packaging, and distribution services. Customers include refrigerated and frozen food processors, importers and marketers, foodservice distributors, supermarket chains, and shopping clubs.
