Albertson's now controls Shaw's, Star Markets

Albertson's Inc has completed the acquisition of JS USA Holdings Inc, which operates 204 Shaw's and Star Markets stores in New England. With the addition of Shaw's, Boise ID-based Albertson's will have more than 2,500 stores in 37 states and about 230,000 employees.
Paul Gannon will remain chief executive officer and president of Shaw's and will report directly to Larry Johnston, chairman, CEO, and president of Albertson's. Shaw's and Star Market stores will continue to operate under their current banners, and the headquarters will remain in New Bridgewater MA.
