Farmer Jack decides to close 13 stores

Farmer Jack Food Market will close 13 southeast Michigan area stores by mid-February as part of the companyÕs continuing efforts to restore profitability.Certain employees at the 13 stores will have the option to transfer to another Farmer Jack store or accept a voluntarily severance agreement. Farmer Jack will also work with state and local agencies on job placement and training programs for any displaced employees.
Detroit MI-based Farmer Jack has 106 locations in southeast Michigan. It is an operating unit of the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P), headquartered in Montvale NJ.
