Giant Eagle Inc plans to install SCE suite

Jul 1, 2004 12:00 PM

Manhattan Associates Inc has announced that Giant Eagle Inc, a Pittsburgh PA-based supermarket retailer with 214 stores in four states, plans to install Manhattan Associates' suite of SCE systems. The company's Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Trading Partner Management (TPM) system combined with its business intelligence, slotting optimization, and labor management tools will assist Giant Eagle with streamlining its distribution processes.

The supermarket retailer decided to partner with Manhattan Associates as a result of its commitment to Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).

Giant Eagle will gain reporting capabilities and an auto alerting system that will notify management to changes in operations. Finally, through the use of TPM, Giant Eagle's suppliers can begin using Advance Ship Notices (ASNs) and corresponding bar-coded shipping labels that will aid in automating and streamlining Giant Eagle's own receiving processes and provide visibility to orders in the supply chain.
