Russer Foods voluntarily recalls deli ham

Russer Foods is voluntarily recalling 500 pounds of Russer Canadian Brand maple ham that may contain listeria monocytogenes. Company officials said they have notified the United States Agriculture Department of this action.

There have been no illnesses associated with this product. However, Russer is issuing the recall as a cautionary measure.

The product being recalled was potentially sold to consumers at deli departments in grocery stores Aug 5-9, 2004. The master case has a sell-by date of Oct 25, 2004. The product was distributed in New York, Ohio, and Connecticut, and retailers have been contacted.

Consumers who may have purchased this product in these states should return it to the store where purchased. For more information, phone 866-658-0019.
