Caterpillar releases transportation outlook

Caterpillar, through its FCC Equipment Financing subsidiary, has released a comprehensive transportation industry report entitled, FCC 2008 Economic Insight: An Annual Outlook on the Transportation Industry.
Produced by Caterpillar's economists, it provides a compilation of viewpoints on the current and future status of the US economy and the North American transportation industries, including trucking.
The report predicted the US economy will grow only 1.5% this year, with the implication for trucking being that freight will be flat, down about 1%.
