StarTrak Systems, a subsidiary of Alanco Technologies Inc (NASDAQ: ALAN), has been awarded a five-year contract by CR England Inc to expand deployment of ReeferTrak RT6000 monitoring equipment and logistical services for its intermodal fleet of refrigerated trailers and containers. Value of the monitoring service contract, including initial hardware purchases, is about $750,000.

ReeferTrak provides advanced reefer monitoring capabilities for the transportation industry, featuring telematics functions and logistical systems integration that enable CR England to optimize its intermodal refrigerated operations.

Before selecting StarTrak’s system, CR England performed an extensive evaluation of ReeferTrak in comparison with other monitoring methods. CR England selected ReeferTrak based upon the system’s flexibility and distributed system architecture, which allows each monitoring device to independently determine critical events, remotely report, and accept action commands unique to refrigerated intermodal operations. These include temperature performance monitoring, fuel management, and trailer inventory visibility.
