IFDA offers employee compensation study

Jul 1, 2008 12:00 PM

The International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA) has released the 2008 Employee Compensation Study of the Distribution Industry, providing a complete source of information about compensation and benefit practices available for distribution industries. This study analyzes 2007 compensation data submitted by more than 1,700 United States firms, including 31 lines of trade and more than 7000 locations. Thirty-eight IFDA members participated in the research.

Included are a printed report and a CD. The print report contains an analysis of the foodservice distributor sample including executive and employee compensation information in salaries, bonuses, commissions, and perks. This report also includes details about fringe benefits such as health insurance, retirement programs, and employee time off. The second part of the report, in Excel spreadsheet form, provides a cross-industry report with geographic and volume breakouts from the full sample of distributor firms, allowing users to view compensation practices by size of firm and by geographic area. Companies were categorized into more than 20 sales volumes and more than 100 geographic areas.
