Merchants Terminal using
RedPrairie Corp.'s WMS

Jun 5, 2008 9:45 AM

Temperature-controlled logistics provider Merchants Terminal is implementing RedPrairie Corporation’s Warehouse Management Solution (WMS) to gain RF (radio frequency) capabilities, improve productivity, and inventory accuracy.

Phase one of the RedPrairie system implementation has been completed at Merchants Terminal’s Jessup MD distribution center, and the entire facility should go live later in 2008. Merchants Terminal also plans to implement the RedPrairie system at its Wilmington DE distribution center.

"One of our biggest concerns is maintaining a high level of service for our customers as the complexity of their supply chains increases," said Ernie Ferguson, Merchants Terminal’s vice president of sales. "RedPrairie allows us to effectively manage the flow of cases within our distribution centers while providing real-time information and traceability to our customers."

Privately owned and founded in 1927, Merchants Terminal is the oldest and largest temperature-controlled logistics company in Maryland. Through its four distribution centers and transportation division MLogistics, Merchants Terminal provides temperature-controlled distribution services throughout the eastern United States.
