Psion Teklogix mobile devices
enhance efficiency for USCS

Jun 13, 2009 2:05 PM

Psion Teklogix Inc announced that United States Cold Storage (USCS), a leading public refrigerated warehousing (PRW) company, has begun a nationwide implementation of new Psion Teklogix’ mobile devices at more than 30 sites.

USCS first implemented radio frequency equipment from Psion Teklogix in 1997. Currently, the company has more than 1,000 ruggedized mobile devices deployed, ranging from handhelds to vehicle-mounted computers, helping to keep the supply chain moving with maximum efficiency. The devices are in the field from receiving to picking and stacking to shipping, and are tasked with managing inventory and orders wirelessly in real-time.

It was imperative that USCS have devices that can withstand the harsh, extreme environments in which goods are stored. Fortunately, Psion Teklogix rugged mobile devices are able to perform all functionalities in temperatures as low as –15 degrees F. With rugged mobile devices and a battery life that can last through the whole day without recharging, USCS is able to keep the business efficient and accurate.

USCS is among the top five largest PRW companies in the nation. It offers more than 155 million cubic feet of temperature-controlled warehouse and handling space in 30 facilities in 10 states. The company employs approximately 1,350 service professionals.
