Richmond Cold Storage HighJumps forward

Apr 1, 2008 12:00 PM

HighJump Software, a 3M company, announced that third-party logistics provider Richmond Cold Storage (RCS) has selected the HighJump warehouse management system (WMS) to support nationwide distribution. RCS will implement the system at 12 facilities in Virginia, North Carolina, and Alabama using a centralized deployment model.

RCS services many Fortune 500 processors of perishable products. The company selected the HighJump WMS because its architecture and ease of making changes will enable the company to have greater control over its operational processes. This will allow RCS the flexibility to meet each customer's requirements while maintaining a low cost of system ownership. The HighJump system will also integrate to RCS' customer web portal to make real-time inventory and shipping data easily accessible.

The HighJump 3PL billing functionality will allow RCS to further streamline its billing process. The HighJump WMS supports contractual requirements that often exist between a 3PL and their customers, including billing based on material handling transactions, storage capacity utilization, and customer-specific billing requirements. In addition, HighJump will enable RCS to comply with United States Department of Agriculture, Food and Drug Administration, and Department of Commerce regulations.
