The Assistant can improve brake training

Feb 1, 2005 12:00 PM

Truck driving instructors and employers can use The Assistant to provide hands-on learning about brakes in a classroom environment. Developed by a mechanic with 26 years of experience in the trucking industry and marketed by Crystal Distribution Services, The Assistant is a self-contained, portable brake simulator made of real working parts.

The Assistant offers a hands-on experience within the comfort of a classroom. This approach to teaching increases students' retention and lets drivers become comfortable with brake adjustment, helping reduce the number of out-of-service vehicles on the road.

Constructed from working components of an actual brake system, The Assistant allows students to activate the air brake and see the inner components in action. This makes it ideal to assist in training for air brake certification, and it provides an easy way to teach proper brake adjustment with both manual and automatic slack adjusters. It comes with a 12-month guarantee on all parts and services. To test it out, on-site trials can be arranged; The Assistant can be shipped to the user's location.
