C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc is implementing a data warehouse system from Teradata, a division of NCR Corp, to enhance operations of the firm's procurement and retail units.

C&S and Teradata are implementing the new technology with the assistance of Teradata partner IBM IIS/Ascential, which is providing guidance to integrate data from the wholesaler's previous information systems.

The second-largest supermarket wholesaler in the United States, C&S is a privately owned company with annual sales for 2006 projected to surpass $19 billion. It provides distribution services to grocery chains and independent stores, delivering to more than 4,000 locations.
