Device puts data collection in hand

May 1, 2005 12:00 PM

Intermec Technologies Corp has introduced the CK31, a new, rugged version of its CK30 handheld computer that is designed for warehousing and distribution environments.

The CK31's combination of Microsoft Windows CE.NET operating system and versatile display make it possible to run virtually any data collection application, from legacy terminal emulation to modern Web-based graphical programs.

This computer reads all popular 1D and 2D bar code symbologies, making it suitable for any data collection application. It has a 52-key alphanumeric keyboard for applications ranging from shipping and receiving, put-away and picking, to cycle counting for the warehouse floor. It also has a high-capacity lithium-ion battery for at least a full shift of use without recharging. The unit is completely sealed to keep dust, dirt, and water out and can withstand multiple four-foot drops to concrete.

Accessories include a user-installable pistol grip handle for repetitive scanning applications and a range of single-or multiple-slot charging and communications docks.
